Assistant Professor Dr. Niramon Promnil, a lecturer in the Doctor of Philosophy Program in Tourism and Hospitality Management, School of Business and Communication Arts, University of Phayao, was invited to serve as a resource person for the “Good Seed Youth: U.D. Opportunity – Hometown Awareness Program (Northeastern Region)”, held from 5–7 June 2026 at Starwell Bali Hotel, Nakhon Ratchasima Province. The program brought together 150 children and young people from various provinces across Northeastern Thailand.
During the program, Assistant Professor Dr. Niramon Promnil shared her expertise and professional experience through a series of interactive workshops on topics including “Creative Community Data Collection and Analysis,” “Smart Pitching: Effective Presentation Skills for Business Opportunities,” “Online Business Planning,” “Digital-Era Sales Personality Development,” and “Discovering Your Identity and Creating Your Unique Selling Point.” These learning activities were designed to strengthen participants’ 21st-century competencies, including creative and analytical thinking, effective communication, entrepreneurial skills, and the application of digital technologies to create economic and social opportunities within their communities.
The project was organized by the Department of Children and Youth Affairs with the objective of developing youth leaders capable of becoming agents of positive social change. It sought to foster awareness of the value of local resources and indigenous wisdom, encourage youth participation in the conservation, development, and value enhancement of community products, and strengthen vocational skills and self-reliance in accordance with the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy.
The participation of the School of Business and Communication Arts in this initiative reflects the vital role of higher education institutions in translating academic knowledge into tangible social and community development outcomes. The project is closely aligned with several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, through the promotion of lifelong learning and future-oriented skills; SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, through fostering entrepreneurship and innovative income-generating opportunities; and SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, through empowering youth to contribute to local development and build upon the social capital of their communities.
Furthermore, the integration of knowledge in business administration, communication, and community development into youth development processes serves as an important mechanism for strengthening human capital. Such efforts contribute to balanced and sustainable economic and social development, while preparing young people to become capable leaders in driving long-term community transformation.
